Your Prom is one of the most important days in your life. For that reason, choosing the absolute perfect prom dress is vital to getting the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. After all, a prom dress isn’t just a dress; it’s the difference between feeling wonderful and beautiful, and feeling like you look “okay.”

It is always a good idea to look through up-to-date magazines such as Seventeen, Prom Magazine, and even bridal magazines. You would be surprised at the different fashions you will see and the great ideas from the models in these magazines. If a dress really catches your eye, tear out the page and take it with you when you go shopping for your gown.

Another timesaving step is to take your measurements before you go shopping. Jot down your height and weight. This will give you more time to look. This information will come in handy when you decide to go online and shop.

Knowing how much you have in your budget and which price range best suits you will also save you time.

When choosing your prom dress, you want the dress that best suits your figure. Always buy a dress that fits you now. Do not buy a size smaller and hope that on prom night you can fit into the dress. When shopping for your prom dress, it is best to shop at stores where the employees can help you and give you advice if needed.

Bright, bold colors seem to be the trend at this time. These colors tend to be eye-catching and bring color to your face. Beads and jewels draw attention by catching the light on your gown.

Keep in mind your undergarments that you will need to purchase such as a strapless bra or corset. You may want to purchase these items before you shop for your dress so you will have them available when you try on gowns.

Remember, keep your options open. If you have shopped ’til you dropped and still have not found that dream dress for your 2007 prom, you can go to a tailor shop and have them design a dress just for you or surf online at your own convenience.

Applicants may access the electronic application form at www.dvlottery.state.gov only during this registration period. The winners will be randomly selected by a computer, from all qualified entries. Random selection does not guarantee an applicant will receive a visa. The applicants that have not been selected WILL NOT RECEIVE any notification.

Should you receive an e-mail announcing you have been selected, please note that the message is not legitimate.

Please be aware that the DV winners are notified BY MAIL (at the address they provided on the electronic registration form). The notification is NEVER made by e-mail.

THE ENTRY

There is only one way to enter the DV-2008 lottery. You must submit an Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form (E-DV Entry Form), which is accessible only at www.dvlottery.state.gov. Failure to complete the form in its entirety will disqualify the entry.

Diversity Visa Lottery 2007

2008 Diversity Visa Lottery

The Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky has registered and notified the winners of the DV-2007 diversity lottery. The diversity lottery was conducted under the terms of section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and makes available 50,000 permanent resident visas annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Approximately 82,000 applicants have been registered and notified and may now make an application for an immigrant visa. Since it is likely that some of the first 50,000 persons registered will not pursue their cases to visa issuance, this larger figure should insure that all DV-2007 numbers will be used during fiscal year 2007.

Applicants registered for the DV-2007 program were selected at random from over 5.5 million qualified entries received during the 60-day application period that ran from 12:00 AM on October 5, 2005, until midnight, December 4, 2005. The visas have been apportioned among six geographic regions with a maximum of seven percent available to persons born in any single country. During the visa interview, principal applicants must provide proof of a high school education or its equivalent, or show two years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience within the past five years. Those selected will need to act on their immigrant visa applications quickly. Applicants should follow the instructions in their notification letter and must fully complete the information requested.

Registrants living legally in the United States who wish to apply for adjustment of their status must contact the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services for information on the requirements and procedures. Once the total 50,000 visa numbers have been used, the program for fiscal year 2007 will end. Selected applicants who do not receive visas by September 30, 2007 will derive no further benefit from their DV-2007 registration. Similarly, spouses and children accompanying or following to join DV-2007 principal applicants are only entitled to derivative diversity visa status until September 30, 2007.
Only participants in the DV-2007 program who were selected for further processing have been notified. Those who have not received notification were not selected. They may try for the upcoming DV-2008 lottery if they wish.

A new nonstop flight connecting the nation’s two main gambling hotspots is now in service.

One flight is to fly each way each day between Atlantic City International Airport and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. The first westbound flight departed Atlantic City shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The Spirit Airlines flight will be a convenience for casino operators that have operations in both cities and need to shuttle their executives between them.

It also opens new markets for Atlantic City, a city with easy access from big East Coast cities such as New York and Philadelphia but where the airport has limited service. Business boosters see the new flight as a potential boon to efforts to increase the city’s convention business.

Passengers can fly to Las Vegas and connect to other cities all over the West.

Atlantic City International is served by only two commercial carriers: Spirit and Delta Air Lines.

How does Windows Vista compare to Mac OS X Tiger?
“Microsoft seems to have taken many cues from Mac OS X with the user interface and features, right down to some of the terminology. Even some of Vista’s icons are amazingly similar to those in Tiger.” – John Rizzo.
Competitive and fast are two terms that are applicable to the world of computers. Constantly changing and evolving computer systems bring many advantages to the users and techies alike. The race for supremacy between the yet to be launched Vista (scheduled for 2006) and Mac OSX Tiger began in 2003 with Microsoft’s announcements of plans for an integrated desktop search functionality in Windows Vista.

While opinions vary and are really personal choices in many ways, the following sums up the functionalities between Vista and Tiger. Read all article here.

The iPhone, will be three devices in one: a cell phone, a wide-screen iPod with touch controls, and an Internet communications device. Cingular is the lucky carrier.

Apple made it a quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) world phone. Considering the multimedia-friendly feature set, the omission of any 3G compatibility is a bit bizarre, particularly since Cingular now offers UMTS and HSDPA.

They pulled a new trick out of its hat with Visual Voicemail. Rather than forcing you to call your voice mail and waiting to browse through multiple messages to hear the one you want, Visual Voicemail displays all the messages you have in a list, similar to an e-mail in-box. All you have to do is select the message you want and listen away.

It’s tough to truly evaluate the iPhone’s capability as a music and video player without some hands-on experience, but a cursory look at the product shots and details gives us some idea; that, and the fact it’s closely related to the highly rated iPod music player iPod. In short, the iPhone is sure to offer an easy-to-use media playback interface, and the breadth of content offered by iTunes (its compatible service) ensures you’ll never be wanting for music or video files. Of course, the touch-screen interface will take some getting used to for users who are accustomed to the iPod’s Clickwheel.

The iPhone, which will be offered in 4GB and 8GB capacities (flash memory), doesn’t have any restrictions on how much of that memory you choose to fill up with media content–no 100-track limit, as is the case with the Motorola Rokr. The convergence device also takes a step away from its iPod brethren by offering a built-in mic for audio recordings. And unlike most cell phones, the iPhone offers a standard 3.5mm audio jack, which will work with all mainstream stereo headphones. There’s no FM radio but that’s nothing new from Apple.
